Ghostbusters II is a 1989 sequel to the 1984 box office hit Ghostbusters. The film stars Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver reprising their roles from the first film.

Plot[]

Five years after saving New York City from a ghost attack, the Ghostbusters -- a team of spirit exterminators -- is disbanded for demolishing parts of the city during the battle. But when Ghostbuster Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) learns that spirits have taken an interest in his son, the men launch a rogue ghost-chasing mission. The quest quickly goes awry, landing them in court. But when the ghosts turn on the judge, he issues an order allowing the Ghostbusters to get back to work.

Why It's Also Better Than Ghostbusters (2016)[]

  1. The original cast return to reprise their roles.
  2. New music.
  3. The effects of the ghosts controlling the Statue of Liberty were far better and more impressive than the ghost effects in the reboot.
  4. Better action scenes than the reboot.
  5. Good supporting roles.
  6. The Ghostbusters song still appears.
  7. The Ecto-1A is a good looking and improved version of the original Ecto-1.
  8. It isn't a rehash of the original film.
  9. Vigo and Janosz are also better villains in this film than Rowan is.
  10. Like the original, there are no pointless dancing scenes. There is a dancing scene, however. But, it was not nonsensical.

Downsides[]

  1. Even though it's a decent follow up to the first film, it has been generally considered not as good as the first film, though it's a bit step down from the original.
