Plot[]
Casey Ryback (Steven Seagal), an ex-Navy SEAL turned chef finds out that a group of entertainers that are boarding on the decommissioned battleship he works on are actually mercenaries (Tommy Lee Jones and many others) that want to take hold of the ship and the SEALS hostage.

Under Siege was released on October 9, 1992 with positive reviews and currently holds a 76% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an average of 6.2 out of 10. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the film a 3 out of 4 stars and stated in his review "This movie does a terrific job of making every scene play like a real event on a ship at sea, and that's part of its charm." Gene Siskel of The Chicago Tribune awarded the film a 3.5 out of 4 stars and stated in his review "The tension and humor level tail off a bit toward the conclusion, but Steven Seagal and Chicago director Andy Davis clearly declare themselves as top-flight talent. Film critic Michael Wilmington of The Los Angeles Times described the film as "Die Hard on a battleship. A high-tech thriller with laughs and thrills."

Under Siege opened at #1 with a domestic gross of $15,760,003. The film would later make a total domestic gross of $83,563,139 and made a foreign gross of $73,000,000. Overall, the film made a worldwide total of $156,563,139 against its $35 million budget making it a box office hit.
