A review of the sequel to Spielberg's classic, starring once again Roy Scheider as Chief Brody, going after another shark. Only this time, it's been scarred up via a fire/explosion, is now after his two sons who are hanging out with a bunch of teenagers who are para-sailing out into the ocean for fun, and the body count is higher.
In other words, it's Jaws the Slasher version.
Originally the director was John Hancock, who was let go a few weeks into shooting because the studio did not like his 'subtle, darker' version, wanting a more light-hearted and action-oriented movie.
Roy Scheider had not wanted to return, only doing so cause he was in his contract. He also fought with the director a lot.
Scheider complained (in front of extras) that Szwarc was wasting time with technical issues and the extras whilst ignoring the principal actors.A meeting was called with the two, David Brown and Verna Fields, in which Scheider and Szwarc were encouraged to settle their differences. The discussion became heated and a physical fight broke out, which Brown and Fields broke up.
